“My Changes Aren’t Showing” – Cache and Refresh Basics
This is one of the most common support questions, and it's very often not a fault at all.
First, try a hard refresh
Your browser may be showing a saved (cached) version of the page. Try Ctrl+F5 (Windows) or Cmd+Shift+R (Mac) to force a full reload.
Check you actually published/updated
It’s easy to preview a change and think it’s live when it’s still only a draft. Go back into the editor and confirm the status says “Published” and that you clicked Update after your last change.
Site-level caching
Many WordPress sites (including ones hosted on WP Engine) use server-side caching to keep things fast, which can mean a short delay – usually a few minutes – before changes appear for all visitors, even after a hard refresh on your end.
Still not showing after a while?
Try viewing the page in a private/incognito browser window, or from a different device, to rule out anything specific to your own browser.
Tip: If it’s been more than 15–20 minutes and it’s still not showing anywhere, that’s the point to flag it to whoever manages the site’s hosting.
