Sometimes you need to update a photo without disturbing the surrounding design – here’s the safest way to do it.

Replacing within the editor

  1. Click on the image block you want to change.
  2. Click the “Replace” button in the block toolbar (or click directly on the image, depending on your theme).
  3. Choose a new file from Upload, or select an existing one from the Media Library.

Keeping the layout intact

Replacing an image this way keeps its existing size, alignment, and styling settings – only the picture itself changes. Avoid deleting the block entirely and adding a brand new one unless you actually want to reset those settings.

Tip: If the new image has very different proportions to the old one (e.g. swapping a square photo for a wide landscape one), double check how it looks on both desktop and mobile afterwards.
