Who to Contact vs What You Can Fix Yourself

You can usually fix these yourself

  • A typo or wording change
  • A missing or wrong image, once you have the correct file
  • A page missing from the menu (see the guide on how the main menu works)
  • Content stuck as a Draft that should be Published (check your role’s permissions first)

These usually need an administrator or developer

  • The whole site or admin area being inaccessible
  • Error messages mentioning “fatal error”, “database”, or similar technical language
  • A missing feature that used to work (may be a plugin or hosting issue)
  • Anything involving user accounts, roles, or permissions being changed
  • Email not sending from the site (contact forms, notifications)

Before you report it

Note down exactly what you were doing when the problem happened, any error message word-for-word, and a screenshot if possible – this makes it much faster for whoever picks it up to diagnose.

Tip: When in doubt, it’s always fine to ask – better to check than to guess with something you’re not confident about.
